High Court issues notice to Centre to quash circular

The Madras High Court today issued notice to the Centre on a plea for quashing a circular issued by the Regional Officer, CBSE, Chennai, asking students to buy text books published by private publishers instead of those by the National Council for Educational Research and Training.

The judge directed Assistant Solicitor General Su. Sreenivasan, who took notice on behalf of the Centre, to file his reply within four weeks. There are so many issues involved with regard to the CBSE books, the judge said and posted the matter for further hearing after four weeks.
